Providing a Safe Environment

In an effort to provide a safe environment for all Lead>Defend participants, we are asking each church to assume responsibility for screening and equipping all adults representing the church at Lead>Defend by conducting criminal background checks and instruction on reporting and crisis protocols prior to Lead>Defend. Conducting background checks and instruction on reporting is a reasonable standard of expectation for all adults working with minors at Arkansas Baptist State Convention events. Should you need assistance, good resources for criminal background checks and sexual abuse awareness training are MinistrySafe (Arkansas Baptist State Convention churches can visit ministrysafe.com/absc to sign up) and Protect My Ministry (protectmyministry.com).

We are asking each church not to bring any individuals, adult or minor, with a history of sexually aggressive or criminal behavior.

If you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance in providing info concerning criminal background checks or sexual abuse awareness training, please contact our office at 1-800-838-2272, ext. 5132.

Thank you for being proactive and partnering with us.
